The Polar Express

So for Christmas we went to Durango Colorado and took a Polar Express ride. It was fantastic!

It was sure cold though so we bundled everyone up.

As we enjoyed the warm train we were served hot chocolate and rice crispie treats! Ryan loved that.

They even had people serving the treats in white coats and chef hats.. Just like the movie.!
It was so fun. Here is Bruce and Ruth with Ryan

My First Bag

My mom wanted to see the bag that she co-designed with me over the phone, so It would have taken just as long to email them as to post them on my blog.. so they arent completely done, but it's where i am at now with them.

I still need to stain guard them and i need to do the handles stronger.

I also did the bottom of the bag a leather-like material to be a little stronger.

we'll see how it holds up with the sunday load... ie. scriptures, manuels, baby stuff.

Sassy Sista

I love these pictures with Ryan in her tights from church and her onesie.. She was walking around the house shaking her bum and dancing with her finger in her mouth.

She is a Burton girl!

Trip to the Land of Enchantment

We had a great Thanksgiving in New Mexico this year. We were able to see both families.
The picture above is a picture of my brother Brian's new life in Escrito. He owns the town gas station, cafe, grocery store and post office. While we were there we helped him do some sign work to bring in some new business. So if you are on your way to Albuquerque look for his store.
This is out behind Brians' place.. great views.. Doesnt Nate look great?

Ryan played around while we all painted. She is so short!

Ryan also fell in love with Katie while we were there!

Wile we were out there we went to Chaco canyon.. If you havent been there go!! it was amaizing and well worth the drive. They are ruins of an ancient city still visable today.

This was high up on a rock wall .. Hieroglyphics of a bird with it's prey.. AMAIZING. they were everywhere there.
Dad is standing in what would be an apartment complex to us.. It held hundreds of living quarters and was very high.

The whole gang.. that wall was soo perfect. every rock fit together so perfectly. It was a great trip..

Christmas time at our house!

I made my first wreath! it's made of real Ocean Spray cranberries! It was super easy too with a glue gun.

Here is our tree. When I got off of my mission my mom decorated our family Christmas tree with amber colored ornaments just for me. She gave me the set after Christmas.. It looks so much cooler at night all lit up. Thanks mom.

Here is Ryan in her new Christmas dress from grandma.

Halloween

So for Halloween Ryan was a little spider with her bff Penelope. Jessi (Penelope's mom) and I made their costumes one afternoon while they were down for naps. The creative juices were definately flowing because we whipped those things out pretty quickly. It was really fun.

The other great thing was that they were pretty warm because of the fleece and padding we used.

This was actually Halloween night and it was at our neighborhood trunk or treat. She had a lot of fun just watching all the kids run around. We did have her trick or treat for a little. Everyone kept asking what kind candy she likes. I felt kinda bad.. I dont give her candy.. she's only 1! so how bad is it to take your kid trick or treating just to get you candy? .. not that i did .

Aren't they adorable? you should have seen them crawl around. they looked just like spiders cause you could see their backs and all the leggs.. hahha..

Last but not least, here I am dressed as a luchadoooorrrrrrr! (that's wrestler in e-spanish)
Thanks mission girls for the mask and Adam for the bike leggings... oh and Letti for (unused) undaroos, they came in great! I couldnt keep the mask down because it scared Ryan so I just look .. well "special" .. haha

ps. I think I might be one of those moms that embarasses thier kids but doesnt really notice . lol.
